High School & Beyond Survival Workshop

Give your students tools to succeed

South Mandarin Branch Library
12125 San Jose Blvd., Conference Room
Thursdays, 4:30 p.m.
October 10, 17, 24
November 7, 14, 21

With demanding classes, challenging homework and tricky testing methods, it can be a tough world for even the best of students. Help is here. The South Mandarin Branch Library is offering a six-week “Skills for Success” psycho-educational guidance program for students ages 12-18. This program helps determine a student’s individual learning style, and, in turn, provides educational information on how the student will best learn and study according to his or her learning style. The program also includes essay writing, effective time management, studying for tests and exams, tips to complete multiple choice exams, and organizational skills.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a recommendation letter from Ms. Rachel Bauer, M.Ed. for their next steps in college and scholarship admissions, or to use when applying for jobs. These learning strategies could help your student for life, so call 288-6385 to reserve your spot today. There will be snacks, too, compliments of Publix.

Boost your student’s achievement

with library resources at Parent Academy

The Jacksonville Public Library is partnering with Duval County Public Schools to help students succeed. As part of the DCPS Parent Academy, the program at the library will give participants a leg up on how to use important library resources. Parents and students will tour the library, learn how to navigate the library website, use databases, and understand the library’s e-book lending program. Parents will also learn how to promote online safety for their students. You may sign up for as many classes as you like. To learn more or to enroll in this class, visit the Parent Academy website.

All classes are on Wednesdays, 6 – 8 p.m.

Webb Wesconnett Branch Library – October 23
