Economics for Leaders (EFL) is a selective summer program that teaches high school juniors how to integrate economics into the process of decision-making through a hands-on, experiential environment.

Who Can Apply?

Students who are currently juniors in high school and will complete their junior year by this summer are eligible to attend an EFL program in 2014.

Admission

We recommend that students apply as soon as possible, as that will increase their chances of being accepted to the program of their choice. Admission to EFL is competitive. Decisions are based on leadership potential, maturity and vision. Above all, EFL students are intelligent, articulate student leaders who will benefit from this unique educational experience.

Early Application Deadline
Applicants applying by January 13, 2014 will be notified of their admission status by the end of the first week of February.

Regular Application Deadline
Applicants applying after January 13, 2014, but by March 3, 2014 will be notified of their admission status at the end of March.

Late Applications
Applications received following the March 3, 2014 deadline will be reviewed on space available basis.

College Credit

Through a partnership with the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, two semester hours of undergraduate credit are available to students attending the program. There is an additional fee for the course, Econ 1310 ‘A Survey of Economics,’ and students opting for the credit must complete additional assignments. The credits cost $204. Instructions on how to sign up for the credits will be sent in the orientation packets of accepted students.
