Freshman Support is a free, school-specific college
planning resource for students and families. We offer information and helpful
tools that cover private and public housing, roommate matching, admissions,
scholarships, visit planning and more. We feature a community of admissions
experts and financial experts available to answer users' questions. College
students are also available on the site to showcase their student life through
blogs and media, as well as answer users' questions. Furthermore, we offer a
calendar feature so users can sync their online or smartphone calendars to
receive notices on important college deadlines.
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive resource
for high school students and families to plan for college. We aim to offer
information and insight on every university in America. We are dedicated to
building a helpful community of experts and enthusiastic mentors to engage our
users. We are passionate about creating an inclusive platform and creating a
secure, online space for users to express themselves and enhance their college
planning experience. We believe technology can be used to streamline the
planning process for students and families. And we value helping others.
FreshmanSupport.com was started as a class project
at The University of Texas by students who experienced the challenges associated
with moving and preparing for life in a new city and school. We are a site for
students, by students. The few of us who are not enrolled at a university are
recent graduates who are passionate about making a difference, offering free
services to our users and building a groundbreaking platform for college
planning.
